The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to strengthen the communication, teamwork and leadership skills of court employees. As part of the Improving Judicial Quality Project, another in the series of workshops on this topic was organized in Banja Luka and the participants were heads of court departments and organizational units in courts, as well as other judicial officials who intend to hold managerial positions in the future.

Communication, teamwork and leadership are recognized as skills necessary for the efficiency of both court employees and the improvement of judicial institutions. It is especially important that the strengthening of these skills directly reflect on improving quality of services to citizens, which is why the HJPC BiH, in cooperation with international partners, insists on continuous training and strengthening the skills of employees in judicial institutions.

During the workshop, personal effectiveness, communication skills and team effectiveness were discussed with the aim of recognizing one’s own personality type and style, developing active listening skills, perception, assertiveness and giving feedback. The training was organized in cooperation with the Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Republika Srpska, and a significant contribution to establishing a training program was made by the experts from the Netherlands who shared their experience in courts from their country with the trainers – educators at the workshops.

The Improving Judicial Quality Project is being implemented with the financial support of the Government of Norway and the Government of the Netherlands, in partnership with the Council for the Judiciary of Netherlands and the Norwegian Courts Administration.

The workshop, as well as all activities of the HJPC BiH, were organized in compliance with the epidemiological measures prescribed to prevent the occurrence and spread of the COVID-19 virus.
